January 13, 2004 - Ron Johnson

Ron Johnson, who had suffered increasingly poor health for some years has died, aged 78, following a stroke. He was a member of the Gerrards Cross Chess Club for some 40 years and had been a regular member of Bucks County U-170 and u-125 teams. He also played for Bourne End in the Berkshire League for several years. An industrial chemist, mainly with GEC, Ron was a quiet, reliable man, with many interests, and was always ready to help others. He leaves his wife, Phyllis and two children.

The funeral will be at St James Church, Fulmer village at 1.45pm on Thursday, 22nd Jan.
