Chiltern League

The Chiltern League is a league played by county teams in the Chiltern area grouped by grade. Nigel Dennis is the Chiltern League Controller. He's responsible for arranging the league fixtures each year. Results are sent for grading to Peter Hemmings.

There are four counties in the league. There are directions for the 2007-2008 venues listed below.

All fixtures are played at the venue of the first named team and start at 14:00 on the date given. Time controls are 90 minutes for the first 36 moves, then an additional 30 minutes for the remainder of the game. The home team is to be Black on the odd numbered boards.

Under 180 teams will usually consist of 20 players, under-125 teams will consist of 16 players. Captains may agree to vary these numbers.

The Chiltern Jamboree is an open event with the same time controls as the league. This will be in Oxfordshire on either Saturday 19th April or Sunday 20th April 2008.
